PierCon is assisting NSTAR, the largest Massachusetts-based, investor-owned electric and gas utility, in its plan to meet the FCC’s mandate that all VHF and UHF two-way radio licensees must convert to narrowband operations by the end of 2012. PierCon’s work involves the inventory of all licenses, the development of wideband versus narrowband coverage plots, and the recommendation for a redistribution of equipment to maximize coverage in the new narrowband configuration.
April 2009 National Construction Management Contract
In a nationwide competition, a major telecommunication equipment vendor has selected PierCon Solutions as a qualified provider of construction management for its largest wireless public and private sector networks. PierCon’s selection was based on a competitive evaluation of U.S. wireless construction management firms and partially as a result of PierCon’s management of the site construction for New York City’s Public Safety UHF Trunking/Conventional system.
