Field Service Technician II

Field Service Technician will be part of a field network installation team which implements mission critical digital mobile communication systems for government and public safety communication customers. Technician will install, troubleshoot and terminate Cat6 risers and shielded cables, create cabling pathways for MDF to IDF closets, install roof mounts and wireless radios, calibrate radios as well as install MDF and IDF closets, server racks, and organize cabling. Must be able to work at multiple locations and pass a motor vehicle records check.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install, terminate, and troubleshoot CAT6 riser and shielded cables on patch panels and RJ-45 modular plugs.
  • Route cabling in many different building types through the existing riser closets. Create new pathways for cabling to route from MDF to IDF closets and to the rooftop of buildings by coring and using EMT conduit, sleeves, and PVC.
  • Install various roof mount types and wireless radios on each building.
  • Calibrate wireless radios with other team members to create a connection from one building to another.
  • Install server racks and equipment in the MDF and IDF closets. Organize cabling using D-rings, O-rings, clamps, cable organizers, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-7 years relevant structured cabling experience
  • Minimum 1 year experience of low voltage wiring
  • Experience working with CAT6/6 terminations, including use of RJ-45 crimper, punch down tool, cable tester, keystone jacks, modular plugs, patch panels and power tools
  • Experience with Operating Systems such as Microsoft, Netware, AIX, Linux, Solaris, Mac, etc.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to lift heavy and large objects, climb ladders and work on tall buildings
  • Possess characteristics of high ethical standards and strong work ethic

Electronic Assembler / QA Technician

The Electronic Box Assembler and Tester Produces custom Communication boxes to enable cellular towers to transfer telecommunications signals to T1 and land based assorted carriers.

Assemble, test and/or modify electrical or electronic equipment, such as computers, test equipment telemetering systems, electric motors, and batteries. Assembler needs to be mechanically inclined as they will be assembling larger components for “communication boxes” and computers and using torque wrenches and soldering irons. Assembler will also test equipment. Safety is a MUST.

  • Assemble correct connectors to coaxial cables as were designated by the engineering department – Knowledge of Ethernet cables and network connection for testing

Implement coaxial cable examination with Testing equipment to provide the correct cable loss and resistance

  • Test, inspect, and evaluate cables, connectors, and testing equipment.
  • Assembles, tests, and ships sophisticated communication equipment.
  • Perform quality assurance checks to ensure the equipment is working.

Requirements:

  • Test and ensure quality of assembled products.
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for 8 hours [or more if working overtime].
  • Computer skills and ability to read/enter data as required.
  • Ability to read build documentation.

The Systems Engineer will create detailed system drawings as well as test plans for wireless communication systems at U.S. Government facilities.  Engineer must pass an F.B.I. Criminal Justice Information Services background check; must be a U.S. Citizen.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design detailed wireless communication system drawings (Block diagrams, Floor Plans, Antennas system diagrams, Rack diagrams, etc.) using Visio, Power Point, or AutoCAD
  • Create Link Budgets
  • Perform frequency analysis (i.e., Inter mod, PIM, PIP, VHF, UHF, 7/800MHz, etc.).
  • Placement of antennas (Omni, Panel, Yagi, Dipole, etc.).
  • Perform IP networking for systems and wireless communications (Ethernet, TCP/IP, L2/L3, Subnets, etc.)
  • Write survey reports, design proposals and system test plans, evaluate space requirements for rack equipment, antenna locations and cable runs.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Wireless Engineering, Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, and/or Computer/Management Information Systems
  • 3-7 years’ experience in wireless system design (LMR & cellular), deployment, and testing.
  • Experience in writing survey reports, design proposals, and system test plans.
  • Must be comfortable and confident in presenting system design information to customers and other project stakeholders
  • Must have experience performing site surveys to evaluate space requirements for rack equipment, antenna locations, and cable runs.
  • Must have experience building detailed equipment lists to support proposed design.

RF Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Wireless system design, propagation, modeling and simulation.
  • Link budget analysis & design criteria traffic analysis. Site survey completion and evaluation to identify RF coverage requirements, equipment location, antenna placement and orientation.
  • Creating system(s) designs, material lists, establish project scope of work, testing requirements, design and project variables.
  • Verification of RF related site engineering drawings.
  • Analyze data and prepare customer documentation
  • Assists in zoning and testimony preparation by creating maps, summary sheets and zoning exhibits using information collected from the Client.
  • Utilizes drive testing equipment to collect signal level drive data while adhering to the Company procedures.
  • Completes design visits, tower site and rooftop visits.
  • Designs site antenna configuration and site equipment requirements.
  • Performs inter-modulation studies and analyzes data.
  • Performs computer propagation simulations using RF software.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong knowledge of RF propagation theory, link budgets, LTE capacity planning and indoor capacity dimensioning.
  • Competent in RF Engineering principles including antenna and RF theory, propagation modeling and demonstrate a desire to learn and advance in the telecommunications industry.
  • Experience with RF test equipment and tools such as spectrum analyzers, power meters, sweep testers and drive test software.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot various electronic and RF systems.
  • Strong PC skills and Proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Knowledge of MapInfo, Terrain Navigator, MS Visio, MS Access, MS Project, ComSite Design, ComSite Pro.
